FAIRVIEW PROJECT: THE KIDS SPACES

Designing spaces for kids is always a dance between selecting finishes and furniture that are spirited enough for a kid's room and making sure that your investment is something that won't get old after a year. In this project, we think we captured the balance and provided our client with spaces that their children can grow with. Let's start with the girl's bedroom and bathroom.

For the finishes in the girl's bedroom, we carried the same house wood throughout. This engineered hardwood was so beautiful and we always encourage our clients to carry the house wood into all bedrooms. For all of you out there who love to get out of bed and step on something soft... there's an area rug out there with your name on it!

We painted all the walls in the home white and chose our moments to bring in texture and interest with wallpaper. In this room we sourced this beautiful Serena and Lily wallpaper to cover her bed wall. Isn't it divine? Tailored and feminine and exactly what this room needed.

We absolutely love the way her bathroom turned out! Mixing metals is always something we love to do. In this bathroom we mixed brass and polished nickel. Modern elements like the plumbing, lighting, hardware, mirror, and floating vanity paired nicely with the classic elements of marble stone, shaker style cabinetry, and herringbone tile floors.

Now for the boy spaces. This home was short a bathroom and two of the bedrooms were connected, Our team reworked the floor plan and came up with a solution for both boys to have their own space in their bedrooms and a large enough bathroom to share. The bedrooms are clean, handsome, and up to date; however, the bathroom really steals the show!

And now for the joint bathroom! This french oak finish cabinetry is in a shaker style like the rest of the house. We tiled the vanity wall in a matte picket style tile and used this really fun porcelain tile on the floor. One word - indestructible! It's also very good looking and fun. Large round mirrors, black hardware and plumbing, and fun lighting tops off this adorable boy bath!
