HOUSE OF FOUR REMODEL : FAMILY ROOM REVEAL

Hi! There are only a few spaces left in my home to share with you all and this one is a main one! The family room!

Okay, so this is in the same area that makes up the multi hyphenated great room that includes the kitchen, bar, and kitchen dining. The room was originally very dark and and lacked a substantial focal point. We rebuilt the fireplace, added a built in on either side of it, and furnished in a way that felt casual and put together at the same time. A couple floor plan adjustments that we made were removing the windows and adding two sets of french doors, widening the opening between this space and the kitchen, and moving the TV over the fireplace. These three shifts made a big difference.

All of my cabinetry is the same Alabaster color that the kitchen and bar are in. The fireplace mantle was custom made on site by my contractors and they used the same Calacatta Gold marble that I have in my kitchen, which I was happy about. Calacatta Gold marble was a splurge for me and it was satisfying that every last drop of stone was used.

I continued the shiplap ceiling from my kitchen into the family room and it really connected the spaces. Have a look at the images and sources below!
